I recently had the opportunity to give back in my own small way to someone who has influenced me in more ways than I can count: my high school teacher. :) I made a very special 'doodle' for her, and am excited to send it her way. I also was able to complete a quadruple commission for a family in New York....I was given the honor of creating each one of their children a special piece of art with their name on it. All work is prismacolor on paper. :)

A Doodle A Day Today: Meet Rockadoodle!
Yesterday, I spent the afternoon drawing with an incredible artist (and my fabulous friend) Randy. (please visit http://righthandillustrator.wordpress.com/ to see his amazing work!) Unfortunately, I was having one of those days....I couldn't draw!! uggghh! I tossed out two drawings, and really ended the day with only one small (unfinished) savable sketch....Completely discouraged, I returned home to surprisingly find a 'second wind' so to speak...and had the urge to draw something different. A few hours later, here he is: Meet Rockadoodle! This piece is prismacolor and acrylic on canvas. :) Such a relief to end the day on a happy note with a doodle that surprised me!

First Commission of 2012!
I just had the honor of drawing a portrait of my sweet friend Emily's two children. This was my first ever portrait in graphite, and I am quite pleased! I HOPE SHE LOVES IT!!

I have really been enjoying making these little guys....excited to see where it will lead! The third piece I also made using Prismacolor on paper...and is a statement for ALL girls!
If you like the new work, please pass the word along to your friends! Thanks so much!!! stay tuned!!

A Doodle A Day and Other Sweet Things...
Lately I've been drawing just whatever pops into my mind....I've been inspired by oranges and greens these days, possibly because my gardens have turned to icky browns and the approaching winter has taken its toll on my color inspiration outdoors....enjoy the latest drawings!
